This rule describes traditional recurrence only. Use a reliable place-specific Panchang for an occurrence date.

Practice outline

  • Keep a clean, sattvic routine throughout the Friday of the observance.
  • Prepare white sweets (like *kheer* or milk-based prasad) to offer to Goddess Lakshmi.
  • Distribute the prasad to family members and needy persons after evening worship.

Restraint and alternatives

  • Avoid consuming heavy or non-vegetarian foods during the fasting day.
  • Avoid wasting food or money impulsively on the day of the vow.
  • Do not skip the concluding Udyapan ritual after completing the vowed number of weeks.

Completion and reflection

Validated by completing the exact count of vowed Fridays, performing the Lakshmi Puja, and conducting the Udyapan ceremony with distribution of sacred books and prasad.
