Surya Arghya Samagri
- Copper vessel (Tambe ka Lota)
- Fresh water
- Roli / Kumkum or Red Sandalwood powder
- Red flower petals and a pinch of Akshat (Rice)
- Jaggery piece (Gud)
Step-by-step procedure
Step 1
Morning Water Vessel Preparation
Shastri Ji says: Wake up during early morning/sunrise. Fill a clean copper pot with fresh water and add Roli, red flower petals, Akshat, and a small piece of Jaggery.

Step 2
Offering Surya Arghya
Stand barefoot facing East toward the rising Sun. Raise the copper pot above chest height. Slowly pour water while looking at the Sun ray through the stream. Ensure the falling water does not touch your feet (pour over a plant pot or clean dish).
ॐ एहि सूर्य सहस्त्रांशो तेजोराशे जगत्पते ।अनुकम्पय मां भक्त्या गृहाणार्घ्यं दिवाकर ॥
Step 3
Surya Namaskar & Mantra Chanting
Fold your hands after offering water, touch the fallen water droplets to your forehead and eyes, turn around 3 times clockwise, and chant the Gayatri Mantra or Surya Mantra 11 times.
