Satyabhama and the Parijata Tree

Characters: Lord Krishna, Satyabhama, Narada

Sage Narada once visited Krishna's palace carrying a divine, fragrant Parijata flower from the celestial heavens. Krishna gifted the enchanting flower to his queen, Satyabhama. Admiring its beauty, Satyabhama felt she wanted the entire celestial tree planted exclusively in her own garden so she could hoard its heavenly blossoms forever. Krishna traveled to the heavens, won the tree in a playful battle with Indra, and planted it right outside Satyabhama's courtyard. But magic happened: when the tree dropped its flowers every morning, the gentle breeze blew them right across into the neighboring courtyard of Queen Rukmini as well! Satyabhama realized that trying to possess blessings exclusively for oneself fails because true joy multiplies when it is shared freely with everyone around us.
