1.98.1

वै॒श्वा॒न॒रस्य॑ सुम॒तौ स्या॑म॒ राजा॒ हि कं॒ भुव॑नानामभि॒श्रीः | इ॒तो जा॒तो विश्व॑मि॒दं वि च॑ष्टे वैश्वान॒रो य॑तते॒ सूर्ये॑ण ||

STILL in Vaiśvānara's grace may we continue: yea, he is King supreme o’er all things living. Sprung hence to life upon this All he looketh. Vaiśvānara hath rivalry with Sūrya.

May we remain in Vaiśvānara's grace; he is king supreme over all that lives; sprung here he looks upon this All; Vaiśvānara rivals Sūrya.

Vaiśvānara—fire of all peoples—as jīva-rājan and Sūrya-rival: universal digestive/cosmic fire of Sanātana cosmology (later Gītā echoes). Grace (sumati) as dwelling-place.

Stay aligned with universal life-energy; lead with a gaze that includes the whole living field.

पृ॒ष्टो दि॒वि पृ॒ष्टो अ॒ग्निः पृ॑थि॒व्यां पृ॒ष्टो विश्वा॒ ओष॑धी॒रा वि॑वेश | वै॒श्वा॒न॒रः सह॑सा पृ॒ष्टो अ॒ग्निः स नो॒ दिवा॒ स रि॒षः पा॑तु॒ नक्त॑म् ||

Present in heaven, in earth, all-present Agni,—all plants that grow on ground hath he pervaded. May Agni, may Vaiśvānara with vigour, present, preserve us day and night from foemen.

वैश्वा॑नर॒ तव॒ तत् स॒त्यम॑स्त्व॒स्मान् रायो॑ म॒घवा॑नः सचन्ताम् | तन्नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो मामहन्ता॒मदि॑ति॒: सिन्धु॑: पृथि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः ||

Be this thy truth, Vaiśvānara, to us-ward: let wealth in rich abundance gather round us. This prayer of ours may Varuṇa grant, and Mitra, and Aditi and Sindhu, Earth and Heaven.

Be this your truth to us, Vaiśvānara: let rich abundance gather; may Varuṇa, Mitra, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth, and Heaven grant this prayer.

Satyam of Vaiśvānara as rayi-saṅgama; Kutsa seal with ṛta's full court. Truth equals gathering prosperity rightly.

Let truth be operationalized as rightly gathered abundance under public ethical witness.
