Theological significance
Revered as the birthplace of Lord Parashurama (sixth avatar of Vishnu). According to local tradition, the head of Mother Renuka emerged from the hill here, making Mahur one of the three-and-a-half sacred Shaktipeeths of Maharashtra and a major center for Dattatreya worship.
Approach this peeth with quiet breath and an open heart. Darshan is not only seeing— it is allowing the Mother to see you.
