Theological significance
According to legend, Goddess Sati's waist or pelvic bone (Kankal) fell into the sacred water pond adjacent to this temple. It is one of the most serene Shaktipeeths of the Birbhum region, deeply associated with rural Bengali folk spirituality and Baul music traditions.
Approach this peeth with quiet breath and an open heart. Darshan is not only seeing— it is allowing the Mother to see you.
