Theological significance

A devout woman named Ghushma lost her son due to her sister's jealousy. Unshaken in her faith, she continued immersing 101 earth Lingams daily into a pond while chanting Shiva's name. Lord Shiva resurrected her son and manifested permanently here as Ghushmeshwar/Grishneshwar, promising to bless all pious devotees who seek refuge.

A pilgrimage is fulfilled not only by reaching the shrine, but by arriving inwardly— with gratitude, patience, and a quiet mind.
