Ganesha Puja Samagri
- Ganesha Idol or Picture
- 21 blades of fresh Durva Grass (tied in a bundle)
- Red Sandalwood or Sindoor
- Modak, Besan Laddoo, or Jaggery
- Ghee Lamp and Incense
Step-by-step procedure
Step 1
Lighting Lamp & Tilak
Shastri Ji says: Clean the altar, light a Ghee lamp, and apply a round Tilak of Red Sandalwood or Sindoor on Lord Ganesha's forehead.
वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ ।निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥
Step 2
Durva Grass Offering
Take 21 blades of clean Durva grass and offer them respectfully at the feet or head of Lord Ganesha.
ॐ गं गणपतये नमःॐ एकदंताय नमः दूर्वाङ्कुरान् समर्पयामि
Step 3
Modak/Laddoo Bhog & Aarti
Offer Modak or Laddoos as Bhog, chant Ganesha Gayatri, and perform Aarti while ringing the bell.
