WE will present fair praise unto the Mighty One, our hymns to Indra in Vivasvān's dwelling-place; For he hath ne’er found wealth in those who seem to sleep: those who give wealth to men accept no paltry praise.
We bring fair speech to the Mighty One—hymns to Indra in Vivasvān's dwelling; he finds no wealth in those who sleep, and wealth-givers accept no paltry praise.
Stotra in 'sadane Vivasvataḥ'—solar progenitor's seat. Indra ignores 'sasatām' (the spiritually asleep); 'draviṇodeṣu' require worthy 'duṣṭuti'-free praise—excellence matching liberality.
Wake up and praise well. Half-hearted recognition fails those who actually generate value.

Giver of horses, Indra, giver, thou, of kine, giver of barley, thou art Lord and guard of wealth: Man's helper from of old, not disappointing hope, Friend of our friends, to thee as such we sing this praise.
Giver of horses, of cows, of barley—you are lord and guardian of wealth; helper of men from of old, not disappointing hope, friend of friends—to you as such we sing.
Indra as 'duro aśvasya/goḥ/yavasya' and 'vasuna inaspati'. 'Śikṣānaraḥ' 'akāmakarśanaḥ' 'sakhā sakhibhyaḥ'—Vedic friendship theology of reliable Maghavan.
Be the friend who delivers staples and never starves hope—reliability is the core of trusted leadership.

Indra, most splendid, powerful, rich in mighty deeds, this treasure spread around is known to be thine own. Gather therefrom, O Conqueror, and bring to us: fail not the hope of him who loves and sings to thee.
O Indra most splendid, rich in mighty deeds, this treasure spread about is known as yours; gather from it, Conqueror, and bring to us—do not leave empty the longing of your praising lover.
Vasu 'abhitah cekite' as Indra's; prayer 'ā bhara' without 'ūna' of jarituḥ kāma. Bhakti expectancy: devotee's desire honored by the abhibhūta.
Stewards of abundance should actively allocate toward sincere contributors; don't leave loyal effort unfed.

Well pleased with these bright flames and with these Soma drops, take thou away our poverty with seeds and kine. With Indra scattering the Dasyu through these drops, freed from their hate may we obtain abundant food.
Well-pleased with these bright days and Soma drops, remove our want with cows and horses; with Indra scattering the Dasyu through these drops, freed from hate may we grasp abundant food.
Soma and dyu accompany removal of 'amati'. Dasyu-darayaṇa via indu—inner/outer chaos cleared so 'yutadveṣasaḥ' obtain iṣ. Prosperity after purification.
Pair resource infusion with clearing toxic conflict; abundance sticks when enmity is reduced.

Let us obtain, O Indra, plenteous wealth and food, with strength exceeding glorious, shining to the sky: May we obtain the Goddess Providence, the strength of heroes, special source of cattle, rich in steeds.
May we obtain with Indra wealth and food, glorious strengths shining skyward; may we obtain the Goddess Providence—hero-force, cattle-leading, rich in steeds.
Petition for rayi, iṣ, vāja, and 'devyā pramatyā'—divine forward-thinking power 'vīraśuṣmā goagrā aśvāvatī'. Holistic lakṣmī under Indra's companionship.
Seek foresight as a goddess-quality: plan so courage, livelihood, and mobility grow together.

These our libations strength-inspiring, Soma draughts, gladdened thee in the fight with Vṛtra, Hero Lord, What time thou slewest for the singer with trimmed grass ten thousand Vṛtras, thou resistless in thy might.
These intoxications gladdened you, those manly powers, those Somas in Vṛtra-fights, O true lord, when for the singer with strewn grass you felled ten thousand Vṛtras, resistless.
Mada and vṛṣṇya in repeated Vṛtra-hatya; hyperbolic 'daśa vṛtrāṇi ... sahasrāṇi' for the barhiṣmant kāru. Indra's satpati loyalty to the stotra-yajamāna.
Remember past breakthroughs fueled by shared energy; scale courage for those who prepare the ground.

Thou goest on from fight to fight intrepidly, destroying castle after castle here with strength. Thou, Indra, with thy friend who makes the foe bow down, slewest from far away the guileful Namuci.
You go from fight to fight undaunted, destroying castle after castle; with your friend who makes foes bow, Indra, from afar you slew the guileful Namuci.
Serial pura-saṁhanana; Namuci-vadha with sakhyā—often linked to later soma/foam motifs. Māyin Namuci as deceitful obstruction felled even 'parāvati'.
Persist across campaigns; distant deception still falls when alliance and resolve stay sharp.

Thou hast struck down in death Karañja, Parṇaya, in Atithigva's very glorious going forth. Unyielding, when Ṛjiśvan compassed them with siege, thou hast destroyed the hundred forts of Vaṅgṛida.
You slew Karañja and Parṇaya in Atithigva's glorious advance; unyielding, when Ṛjiśvan besieged them, you smashed Vaṅgṛida's hundred forts.
Historical-legendary cycle: Atithigva and Ṛjiśvan aided; Karañja, Parṇaya, Vaṅgṛida's śatam puraḥ destroyed. Indra as ally of righteous siege against predatory strongholds.
Support just campaigns that dismantle entrenched exploitation; persistence at the siege matters.

With all-outstripping chariot-wheel, O Indra, thou far-famed, hast overthrown the twice ten Kings of men, With sixty thousand nine-and-ninety followers, who came in arms to fight with friendless Suśravas.
With all-outstripping chariot-wheel, far-famed Indra, you overthrew twice ten kings of men with sixty thousand ninety-nine followers who armed against friendless Suśravas.
Suśravas protected despite 'abandhunā'—friendless. Indra's rathya cakra overturns overwhelming odds (20 kings, 60,099). Divine justice for the isolated righteous.
Stand with the isolated when coalitions of power bully them; disproportionate odds do not define moral desert.

Thou hast protected Suśravas with succour, and Tūrvayāṇa with thine aid, O Indra. Thou madest Kutsa, Atithigva, Āyu, subject unto this King, the young, the mighty.
You protected Suśravas with your aids and Tūrvayāṇa with your rescues; you made Kutsa, Atithigva, and Āyu subject to this young mighty king.
Layered ūti: Suśravas, Tūrvayāṇa; political ordering under a 'yuvan rājan'. Indra as kingmaker within ṛta—power rearranged for dharmic rule.
Mentorship and protection can realign talent under worthy new leadership when succession serves the whole.

May we protected by the Gods hereafter remain thy very prosperous friends, O Indra. Thee we extol, enjoying through thy favour life long and joyful and with store of heroes.
May we who have the Gods as herdsmen remain your most auspicious friends, O Indra; we praise you, through you gaining heroic sons and longer life carried forward.
'Devagopāḥ' friendship with Indra 'śivatamā'. Stotra yields 'suvīrā' and 'drāghīya āyuḥ prataram'—classic Vedic goods of lineage vitality and extended life under śarman.
Invest in protective communities and habits that extend healthy, generative life—friendship with strength that blesses.
