To thee the Mighty One I bring this mighty hymn, for thy desire hath been gratified by my laud. In Indra, yea in him victorious through his strength, the Gods have joyed at feast and when the Soma flowed.

To you, the Mighty, I bring this mighty hymn, for my praise has pleased your desire; in Indra, strong through his power, the Gods have rejoiced at the feast when Soma flowed.

Brihat stotra for the Brihant—form matches deity. The Devas delight in Indra at Soma-sava: Indra is not isolated heroism but the joy-center of the divine host. Kutsa's laud satisfies Indra's kama for rightful praise.

Match the scale of your effort to the challenge; celebrate milestones so collective morale feeds further excellence.

The Seven Rivers bear his glory far and wide, and heaven and sky and earth display his comely form. The Sun and Moon in change alternate run their course, that we, O Indra, may behold and may have faith.

The seven rivers carry his glory afar; heaven, mid-air, and earth show his fair form; sun and moon alternate their courses so that we may see and have faith, O Indra.

Sapta Sindhavah broadcast Indra's yasha. His rupa pervades dyaus, antariksha, prithivi. Surya-Chandra's regulated alternation enables darshana and shraddha—ordered cosmos as basis of trust in the deity.

Stable cycles build faith—sleep/wake, work/rest, accountability rhythms—so people can 'see and believe' rather than live in chaos.

1.102.3

Maghavan, grant us that same car to bring us spoil, thy conquering car in which we joy in shock of fight. Thou, Indra, whom our hearts praise highly in the war, grant shelter, Maghavan, to us who love thee well.

Maghavan, grant us that conquering car that brings spoil, in which we rejoice in battle's shock; you whom our hearts praise in war, grant shelter to us who love you.

Ratha is both war-chariot and vehicle of divine aid. Maghavan (bountiful lord) is asked for sharman (shelter) alongside victory—Indra-power includes protection of devotees (tvayavantah).

Seek tools and cover together: ambition without safety burns out; protection without courage stagnates.

1.102.4

Encourage thou our side in every fight: may we, with thee for our ally, conquer the foeman's host. Indra, bestow on us joy and felicity break down, O Maghavan, the vigour of our foes.

Encourage our side in every fight; with you as ally may we conquer the foe's host; give joy and well-being, O Maghavan, and break the vigor of our adversaries.

Indra as sakhi in samgrama. Shayus and sauvastya (felicity) are prayed alongside tactical victory—Hindu heroism aims at auspicious thriving, not mere domination. Maghavan's gift weakens asura-ojas.

Bolster team morale ethically; weaken harmful patterns (not people as scapegoats) while aiming for shared wellbeing.

1.102.5

For here in divers ways these men invoking thee, holder of treasures, sing hymns to win thine aid. Ascend the car that thou mayest bring spoil to us, for, Indra, thy fixt winneth the victory.

Here in many ways people invoke you, treasure-holder, singing for your aid; mount the car that you may bring us spoil, for your firm resolve wins victory, O Indra.

Indra is vasu-pati invoked through uktha. The ratha is ascended so booty (sanem) may come—mythic language for recovered light, cattle, and resources. Dhruva (fixed) will of Indra decides jaya.

Clarity of purpose outperforms scattered effort; gather stakeholders' voices, then commit to one decisive course.

1.102.6

His arms win kine, his power is boundless in each act best, with a hundred helps, waker of battle's din Is Indra: none may rival him in mighty strength. Hence, eager for the spoil the people call on him.

His arms win cattle; his power is boundless in every act—best, with a hundred helps, awakener of battle's roar is Indra; none rivals his strength, so the people eager for spoil call on him.

Bahu gains go; shavas is amitam. Shatam utibhih—hundredfold succor. Indra as battle-waker (samad) yet also bestower. Anuttara strength draws the jana's call—lokasangraha through reliable power.

Build capability that people trust under pressure; reputation for reliable strength attracts collaboration.

1.102.7

Thy glory, Maghavan, exceeds a hundred yea, more than a hundred, than a thousand mid the folk, The great bowl hath inspirited thee boundlessly: so mayst thou slay the Vṛtras, breaker-down of forts!

Your glory, Maghavan, exceeds a hundred—yes more than a thousand among the folk; the great bowl has inspired you boundlessly—so may you slay the Vritras, O breaker of forts!

Yasha beyond shata and sahasra. The mahi kamandalu/Soma bowl (camu) inspires Indra's expansion—Soma and stuti empower deity for Vritra-hanana and purbhid (fort-breaking), classic Indra mythology of releasing waters and light.

Fuel peak performance with nourishment and recognition; then apply strength to unblock stuck systems.

1.102.8

Of thy great might there is a three counterpart, the three earths, Lord men and the three realms of light. Above this whole world, Indra, thou hast waxen great: without a foe art thou, nature, from of old.

Of your great might there is a threefold counterpart—the three earths and three realms of light; above this whole world you have grown great, O Indra; from of old you are without a foe by nature.

Triadic cosmos (tisrah prithivih, tri rajamsi) mirrors Indra's mahiman. He has urdhva-grown beyond the loka; ajata-shatru by swabhava—his nature is unopposed when Rita is honored. Vedantic echo: transcendental expanse of the divine Self's power.

Scale your integrity across layers—personal, social, ecological—so growth does not create new enemies through imbalance.

1.102.9

We invocate thee first among the Deities: thou hast become a mighty Conquer in fight. May Indra fill with spirit this our singer's heart, and make our car impetuous, foremost in attack.

We invoke you first among the deities; you have become a mighty conqueror in fight; may Indra fill this singer's heart with spirit and make our car foremost and impetuous in attack.

Prathama among Devas in invocation order. Indra fills the stotri's hrdaya with manyu/energy and makes the ratha purvam—leadership of inspired action. Warrior yoga of heart and vehicle.

Prioritize the core energizing principle in any project; inspire hearts before pushing vehicles (tools, plans) forward.

1.102.10

Thou hast prevailed, and hast not kept the booty back, in trifling battles in those of great account. We make thee keen, the Mighty One, succour us: inspire us, Maghavan, when we defy the foe.

You have prevailed and have not withheld the booty—in small fights and in great; we sharpen you, the Mighty, to aid us: inspire us, Maghavan, when we challenge the foe.

Indra does not hold back sanim—divine generosity after victory. Devotees 'sharpen' (tejayama) Indra through hymn—reciprocal empowerment. Maghavan inspires when we abhi-vadama the adversary of dharma.

After wins, distribute credit and resources; use ritual and practice to keep courage sharp for the next hard conversation.

1.102.11

May Indra evermore be our Protector, and unimperilled may we win the booty. This prayer of ours may Varuṇa grant and Mitra, and Aditi and Sindhu, Earth and Heaven.

May Indra always be our protector; may we win the prize without peril; may Mitra, Varuna, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth and Heaven grant this prayer.

Nitya gopa Indra; vaja without danger (anamisam). Closing cosmic endorsement by Mitra-Varuna-Aditi-Sindhu-Rodasi—victory held inside ethical and earthly balance.

Aim for success that does not require burnout or ethical shortcuts; protect the commons while pursuing goals.
