01
Theological significance
When Goddess Sati sacrificed herself in the yajna fire of King Daksha, Lord Shiva performed the Tandava while carrying her lifeless body across the cosmos. To prevent cosmic destruction, Lord Vishnu released his Sudarshana Chakra, severing Sati's body into 51 parts. The Yoni fell upon the Nilachal Hills, making this site the supreme center of Tantric Sadhana and the source of all manifestation.
