Introduction
Hari Om! Welcome, dear devotee. Performing a daily Nitya Puja at home is not about complex rituals or absolute perfection—it is about starting your day with clarity, devotion (Bhakti), and peace. As your Shastri Ji, I will guide you through a simple 10-to-15 minute daily routine using easily available items. Do not worry if you are a beginner; divine love is the true essence of worship.

Daily home-worship journey
Seven-step Nitya Puja sequence
Follow the steps in order. Recite a supplied mantra slowly; a simple, sincere offering remains complete.

1
Step 1
Pavitrikaran & Achaman (Purification)
Shastri Ji says: Cleanliness begins within and without. Take a spoon of water in your right palm, recite 'Om Keshavaya Namah', and sip it. Repeat this twice more with 'Om Narayanaya Namah' and 'Om Madhavaya Namah'. Finally, pour water on your hands to clean them, chanting 'Om Govindaya Namah'.
-

Step 2
Deepak & Agarbatti Prajvalan (Lighting the Lamp & Incense)
Light the Ghee or Oil Diya first. Place it to the right of the Deity (your left side). Light 1 or 2 incense sticks. The flame represents knowledge removing darkness, while fragrance clears negative thoughts.

Step 3
Invocation & Tilak (Welcoming Divine Energy)
Fold your hands and remember Lord Ganesha first to remove all obstacles. Dip your ring finger in Chandan and Kumkum, and gently apply a Tilak on the Deities. Offer a small pinch of Akshat (rice) over the Tilak.
-

Step 4
Pushpa Samarpana (Offering Flowers)
Take fresh flowers or petals in both hands and gently offer them at the feet of the Deities with respect and love.
-

Step 5
Bhog / Prasad Nivedan (Offering Food/Sweets)
Place your Prasad (Mishri, fruit, or dry fruits) along with a small bowl of fresh water before the Deities. Sprinkle a few drops of water around the Prasad plate in a circular motion to sanctify it.
-

Step 6
Aarti (Light Offering Ritual)
Take the Aarti thali (with the lit diya) or a kapoor (camphor) burner. Ring the small hand bell continuously with your left hand while moving the Aarti plate clock-wise in front of the Deities with your right hand. Sing or play your preferred Aarti (e.g., 'Jai Ganesh Deva' or 'Om Jai Jagdish Hare').
-

Step 7
Pradakshina, Aarti Grahan & Kshama Yachana (Conclusion & Forgiveness)
Turn around yourself clockwise once or thrice on the spot (Pradakshina). Cup your hands over the Aarti flame gently and touch your hands to your eyes and forehead to receive the warmth and blessings. Finally, fold your hands and ask for forgiveness for any unintentional mistakes made during the puja.
Begin with step one and continue at an unhurried pace.
Golden Rules for Beginners
- Consistency over complexity: Spending 5 dedicated minutes daily is better than doing a 2-hour puja once a month.
- Never blow out a Diya with your breath; use a flower petal or let it extinguish naturally.
- Always distribute the Prasad to your family members after completing the Aarti.
