HEAVEN and earth trembled at the might and voice of him, whom, loved and Holy One, helper of all mankind, The wise who longed for spoil in fight for kine brought forth with power, a Friend, mid waters, at the sacrifice.
Heaven and Earth trembled at the might and voice of that beloved holy Helper of all peoples—whom the wise, longing for cattle-wealth in sacred contest, brought forth as a Friend amid the waters at the sacrificial assembly.
Mitra is celebrated as sakha and mankind’s helper (avaḥ janūṣām), born in the waters of yajña. In Sanātana Dharma, true friendship is not a mere contract but a Deva-mode of protection arising in the sacred assembly (vidatha). When Rodasī tremble before speech aligned with cosmic force, the hymn teaches that alliance rooted in Ṛta moves heaven and earth together.
True partnership has gravity. When communities birth genuine mutual aid with clear voice and shared sacred purpose, institutions and environments respond. Build alliances in shared meaning, not transactional networking alone.

As these, like friends, have done this work for you, these prompt servants of Purumīlha Soma-offerer, Give mental power to him who sings the sacred song, and hearken, Strong Ones, to the master of the house.
As these prompt friends have done this work for you—servants of Purumīḷha the Soma-offerer—grant mental power (kratu) to him who sings the sacred song, and listen, O Mighty Ones, to the master of the household.
Mitra–Varuṇa are asked for kratu (discerning will) and gātu (clear path) for the hymnist, and to hear the pastyāvataḥ—lord of the dwelling. Hindu gṛhastha dharma is not separate from yajña: the twin Lords bless both ritual skill and domestic stewardship as one fabric of Ṛta.
Support the people who actually do the work. Give cognitive bandwidth and attentive listening to contributors and household leaders, not only to distant celebrities or abstract brands.

The folk have glorified your birth from Earth and Heaven, to be extolled, ye Strong Ones, for your mighty power. Ye, when ye bring to singer and the rite, enjoy the sacrifice performed with holy praise and strength.
The peoples have glorified your birth from Heaven and Earth, O Strong Ones, to be praised for your great power. When you bring gifts to the singer and the rite, you enjoy the sacrifice performed with holy praise and strength.
Mitra–Varuṇa’s janma from Rodasī marks them as cosmic twins of sky–earth harmony. They ‘taste’ (vītha) the adhvara when it is carried with ṛta and śimyā—Hindu teaching that Devas receive only what is offered without injury and with mindful vigor, never violence dressed as piety.
Honor the sources of ethical order—truthfulness and mutual regard—as if they had a living birth story. Culture thrives when creators and communities feed shared ideals with sincere, non-harming effort.

The people prospers, Asuras! whom ye dearly love: ye, Righteous Ones, proclaim aloud the Holy Law. That efficacious power that comes from lofty heaven, ye bind unto the work, as to the pole an ox.
The settlement prospers, O Asura-powers, whom you dearly love; you Righteous Ones proclaim aloud the great Holy Law. That efficacious power from lofty heaven you yoke to the work, as an ox is yoked to the pole.
Asura here names majestic lordship, not later demonology. Mitra–Varuṇa as ṛtāvānā proclaim bṛhat ṛtam and bind dakṣa from heaven to labor—Hindu vision of Rita as workable power: cosmic law harnessed like a draft animal to righteous action, not left as abstract slogan.
Ethics must be operational. Bind high principles to concrete tasks the way a team is yoked to a load—otherwise ideals stay ornamental while systems drift.

On this great earth ye send your treasure down with might: unstained by dust, the crowding kine are in the stalls. Here in the neighbourhood they cry unto the Sun at morning and at evening, like swift birds of prey.
Upon this great earth you send treasure down with might; dustless, the crowding cows stand in their stalls. Nearby they cry toward the Sun at morning and at dusk, like swift birds of prey.
Mahī… rayi and dust-free cows in the sádman evoke satya-prosperity under Mitra–Varuṇa: abundance without murk or deceit. The herd’s cry toward Sūrya at dawn and nimruc is Hindu solar rhythm—life oriented to light’s thresholds, not endless artificial night.
Seek prosperity that is ‘dustless’—transparent, ecological, and rhythmically aligned with natural cycles rather than opaque extraction and always-on burnout.

The flames with curling tresses serve your sacrifice, whereto ye sing the song, Mitra and Varuṇa. Send down of your free will, prosper our holy songs: ye are sole Masters of the singer's hymn of praise.
Flame-tresses of curling hair have sung to you for Ṛta’s sake, O Mitra and Varuṇa, where you open the path with song. Of your own will send down and swell our holy thoughts; you alone govern the inspired one’s hymns of praise.
Keśinī flames serve the twin Lords for ṛta; they grant gātu and pinvata dhiyaḥ—Hindu Agni-synergy under Mitra–Varuṇa’s sole mastery (irajyathaḥ) of the vipra’s manman. Contemplation is fed by Deva-will and order, not by ego’s restless demand alone.
Creative focus needs both heat (passion) and law (integrity). Invite conditions that swell attention freely, while accepting that lasting inspiration answers to standards larger than mood.

Whoso with sacrifices toiling brings you gifts, and worships, sage and priest, fulfilling your desire,— To him do ye draw nigh and taste his sacrifice. Come well-inclined to us unto our songs and prayer.
Whoever, toiling with sacrifices, gives to you, and as sage-priest worships fulfilling your desire—to him you draw near and taste the offering. Come well-inclined to us, toward our songs and thoughtful goodwill.
The kāvi hotā who is manmasādhanaḥ draws Mitra–Varuṇa near (upahā gacchathaḥ). Hindu reciprocity is clear: sustained yajña and fulfilled kratu invite the twins’ sumati. Devotion is skilled labor and heart-clarity, not vague sentiment without offering.
Consistency attracts trust. Systems and mentors respond to those who show up with craft and follow-through—approachability follows demonstrated care, not demands alone.

With sacrifices and with cows’ milk they first anoint you, O Righteous Ones, as if through stirrings of the mind. They bring you hymns with gathered thought, while you with earnest soul come to us in glory.
Āñjana with yajña and go-milk for ṛtāvānā, like manasaḥ prayukti—Hindu insight that outer anointing mirrors inner intention. Saṃyatā giraḥ with collected mind meet the twins’ adrpyatā manasā—an earnest, non-arrogant divine approach that refuses puffery.
Align outer ritual (habits, gifts, ceremonies) with inner attention. Scattered multitasking weakens both; collected mind makes offerings land where they are meant to.

Rich strength of life is yours: ye, Heroes, have obtained through your surpassing powers rich far-extending might. Not the past days conjoined with nights, not rivers, not the Paṇis have attained your Godhead and your wealth.
You hold rich vital strength; you Heroes have obtained through your māyās vast far-reaching might. Neither days joined with nights, nor rivers, nor the Paṇis have attained your Godhead and your wealth.
Revad vayas and māyābhiḥ māhinaṃ—Mitra–Varuṇa’s creative power exceeds temporal cycles, waters, and Paṇi greed. Hindu teaching: divine friendship and law are not exhausted by chronology, geography, or mercantile withholding; Ṛta outlasts the hoarder’s ledger.
Do not reduce ethical alliance to what markets, clocks, or gatekeepers can inventory. Some goods—trust, integrity, shared meaning—outlast transactional capture and fashion cycles.
